The grooming service takes place in a fully equiped salon with only one pet present at any time. It is a priority that your pet feels safe and comfortable at all times.

Care of the coat depends on the type of breed i.e. long or short haired pets require different types of grooming. Regular brushing, combing and/or hand stripping keeps the pets coat tidy and clean.

Matting is common place amonst pets especially around the legs and ears. Matted areas can be picked apart and removed without any discomfort to the pet.

At Expettations we can bath your pet if required, although over bathing may be detrimental to your pets coat as the coat contains natural oils that keep the coat heatlhy. Only quality grooming products are used in our salon including shampooing and health care products that will keep your pet in top condition.

Nail triimming is an essential part of the grooming process. It is recommended that nail trimmming should be done every six to eight weeks. Initially, pets may find nail trimming uncomfortable so it is imperative to introduce your pet to this gradually. If your pet does find this particularly uncomfortable, nail trimming can be done over several sessions.

Ears are another senstive area and are prone to infections caused by fleas and mites made worse by your pet scratching the infected area. Pets with erect ears are less prone to infections due to a greater circulation of air in and around the ears. During the grooming process, your pets ears are dried thoroughly after bathing and cleaned using sterile cleaning pads.
